Bathroom tales - Purchasing hardware & fittings
One of the most common ways to improve the overall feel of a home (other than slapping some paint around) is to renovate your bathroom. We spend so much time in our bathrooms or ensuite, it makes sense that it's the first thing many people change when they move into a new house.
Something that many don't take into account when purchasing bathroom hardware and fittings (taps, cabinetry, bathtubs etc.) is lead time.
Broadly speaking, from demolition to completion, a full bathroom refit including drying times for paint and tiles usually takes 3-4 weeks. However, this timeline can blow out to 2-3 months if something doesn't arrive on time.
Suppliers often over promise, and under-order stock to the point that clients are literally waiting for a container to arrive from overseas.
At Eye For Detail we pride ourselves in being able to help ease the stress around designing your bathroom. Obviously plans can change, but we urge our clients to purchase fittings, cabinetry and hardware prior to starting a project - it can be the difference between a great project, and a frustrating one.
