Downstairs Bathroom
This is was a downstairs storage room we converted to a bathroom to service the downstairs flat.
Because the floor level of the room being below the outside ground level, we needed to install sanitary pumps to remove the waste water. With the subfloor being a concrete slab it meant we needed to raise the height of the shower to create fall from the shower trap to the pump.
Our client took the opportunity to add a washing machine. To make the room look less like a laundry, we installed a custom concrete vanity with, bespoke cabinetry to hide the sanitary pumps and washing machine.
To top it all off, the base of the house chimney ran straight down into the room. We tool the opportunity to make a feature of the brick work with spot lights, shelving and the heated towel rail into the brick cavity.
This project is a great example of how you can make a feature out of what seems to be obstacle - there is always a solution.
